29th October, Hyderabad: Sreenidi Deccan Football Club opened the new I-League season with a 4-0 rout of NEROCA Football Club at the Deccan Arena stadium here on Sunday. Two goals from captain David Castaneda, and one each from Lalromawia and Lalbiakliana helped the Deccan Warriors lay down an early marker for the campaign.

Sreenidi Deccan controlled possession from the get go and their dominance saw most of the game played in the NEROCA half. That pressure paid off in the 24th minute as Castaneda broke the deadlock in the 24th minute with a close range header from Faysal Shayesteh’s low cross from the right. Castaneda then turned provider in the second half as he slipped in Lalromawia who chipped the goalkeeper to double Sreenidi Deccan’s lead.

Substitute Lalbiakliana then made a big impact after coming on in the 81st minute as he won a penalty which was dispatched by Castaneda before scoring himself in stoppage time to put the icing on the cake for Sreenidi Deccan FC.

Sreenidi Deccan FC will face I-League new boys Inter Kashi in their next game which will be played at the Deccan Arena in Hyderabad on November 3 at 4:30 PM.
