2nd February, Hyderabad: Sreenidi Deccan Football Club have completed the signing of attacking midfielder Brandon Vanlalremdika till the end of the season before the closure of the January transfer window. The 30-year-old left his previous club Punjab FC by mutual consent where he made 10 appearances in the Indian Super League this season.
“I am happy to be here and ready to give my 100 percent for the remainder of the season,” he said. “Our focus is to try and win the I-League title and get promoted to the ISL.”
Brandon has had a glittering career in Indian football, winning the I-League championship with his hometown club Aizawl FC in 2017 before moving to East Bengal FC. He has also played for Mohammedan SC and Punjab FC, winning the I-League title again with the latter.
Head Coach Carlos Vaz Pinto was pleased with the acquisition and looked forward to working with Brandon. “We are happy to have taken advantage of the opportunity of signing a player of Brandon’s quality in this market. His experience and mentality of being a champion will aid us in our quest to win the I-League,” he said.
Brandon will add to the 4-strong Mizo contingent at Sreenidi Deccan FC consisting of Lalromawia, Lalnuntluanga, Lalbiakliana and Lawmnasangzuala who have all made a positive impression this campaign. “I already knew them previously so it definitely helps to have familiar faces in your new surroundings to help you settle,” he concluded.
