Disciplined Sreenidi Deccan FC beat TRAU FC 1-0 in thrilling Hero I-League clash

Hyderabad: Sreenidi Deccan FC (SDFC) posted a clinical win with a goal from David Castaneda to beat Tiddim Road Athletic Union (TRAU) FC 1-0 in their inaugural match on their home turf, the Deccan Arena, as part of the ongoing Hero I-League on Thursday in Hyderabad. SDFC have now won two of their opening three games of the 2022-23 season.

The Hero I-League is an annual football competition and India’s first-ever top-tier professional football league. It is one of the most reputed and sought-after football tournaments in India on par with the prestigious Hero Indian Super League (ISL) and the Durand Cup.

At the Deccan Arena, SDFC maintained their focus and discipline throughout the match to keep maximum possession of the ball. Rosenberg Gabriel and Songpu Singsit were both threatening on the wings as they made the TRAU defence work hard but neither could find the finishing touch.
SDFC’s determined efforts were rewarded with a great goal from Colombian forward Castaneda in the 41st minute after he scored directly from a free-kick.
The contest further tightened after half-time when both teams left no stone unturned to achieve the next breakthrough of the match. Eventually, with their all-around brilliance, SDFC emerged victorious with a 1-0 margin.

SDFC showcased world-class expertise and implemented their plans meticulously throughout the match with clever defenses and quick attacks. The collective effort of the team and the exemplary commitment from each player has made all the difference for the team.
